Before the freezing completely wears off and I start hating you, I wanted to take the time to write you this email to say a large THANK YOU. I was at your office today (9/2/2010), for 3 wisdom teeth extractions (12:15 appointment, Jason Oberholzer). I was apprehensive at first about the whole thing, the nitrous oxide, 3 teeth being pulled, and just not knowing what was going to happen. To make matters worse, to avoid the possibility of developing a dry socket I quit smoking this morning. So not only was I stressed about this whole event, but I couldn't even have a nice smoke to calm myself down.
So back to my point, the procedure itself was completely painless and there was very little discomfort. The laughing gas worked extremely well, at first I didn't feel anything, but as the dose increased I became light headed. My body felt like it weighed a ton and it was like my body was sinking into the chair but my head was floating above it all. I only felt a little pinch from
2 of the injections I needed to numb me up, but the gas made it so I didn't even care. After that the whole thing went so quick, I only felt 1 tooth being pulled out of the socket. It wasn't painful, there was quite a bit of pressure, but I could feel it sliding out of the socket. When it was all over I looked at the teeth that you pulled out and indeed one of them had quite a curved root. I imagine that was the one I felt.
So for all the people out there saying that wisdom teeth extraction is a painful and terrible process, I have to interject. My process was nearly painless, extremely relaxing and there was a minimum amount of discomfort.
You did an amazing job and took the extra time to make sure that I was alright with everything that was going on, plus made the additional effort to make me feel relaxed and comfortable. If anyone in Mississauga is in need of a great dentist, I would strongly urge them to give you a call. They won't soon regret it.
Thanks again for everything, see you again in a couple of weeks.
Jason Oberholzer
